Fort Worth, Texas (Oct. 7, 2011) — Decker Jones partner Patricia B. Cole will be recognized as a 2011 Great Women of Texas, Women of Influence by The Fort Worth Business Press Nov. 9 at the Fort Worth Club.

“We are delighted to be able to salute and recognize a group of outstanding women who have shown significant accomplishments in business, who have excelled in civic contributions and who have worked tirelessly for philanthropic causes,” said Mary Schlegel of The Business Press. “Patricia’s passion and perseverance are to be admired.”

Cole last month was recognized as a Legacy of Women business honoree by SafeHaven, whose mission is to end domestic violence through safety, support, prevention and social change.

“I’m stunned … and happy,” Cole said. “I give my time and energy to make a difference in the community because there are needs and volunteering is something that brings personal satisfaction. I am very flattered about the recognition. These are very distinguished honors.”

Cole’s areas of practice focus on Probate Litigation, Estate Planning, Business Litigation and Corporate Law. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Tarrant County Bar Association, Tarrant County Probate Bar, Texas Guardianship Association and a Fellow of the Tarrant County Bar Foundation.

Cole’s community activities are numerous during the past 15 years. She is a board member of Clark Educational Services Inc., and a volunteer for Fort Worth Habitat for Humanity, Lena Pope Home, Legal Aid of Northwest Texas, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Greater Fort Worth Humane Society. This year, Gov. Rick Perry appointed her to a six-year term on the Family and Protective Services Council to help develop rules and policies that help protect children and individuals who are elderly or have disabilities from abuse, neglect or exploitation.

Cole received a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and a law degree from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law.

In addition to her law practice, Cole is co-owner of Lone Star Bavarian, Inc., a BMW, Mercedes and Mini service facility.
