BIO

Philip W. Spencer brings a creative, interdisciplinary approach to his practice. He knows that finding legal solutions requires a deep understanding of his client’s business. Before participating in the Decker Jones summer associate program, Mr. Spencer interned in the legal departments of a Fortune 1000 oil & gas drilling services company and one of the nation’s largest investment management firms.

After studying finance at Baylor University, Mr. Spencer earned his J.D./M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law and Cox School of Business. Some of his achievements in law school include serving as Editor-in-Chief of the SMU Law Review, obtaining an MBA concentration in Business Analytics, and placing third in a national securities law student writing contest. Mr. Spencer has also contributed his time to charitable organizations focused in the DFW area and internationally. Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Anna, and friends as they explore Fort Worth.
