  • Mr. Bevis has represented sellers, purchasers, developers, investors, lenders, title companies, landlords, and tenants in various real estate transactions, including transactions involving farm and ranch, easements, and commercial and residential property.  He represents litigants in litigation involving real estate and title matters.

     

Homeowners’ & Condominium Owners’ Associations
  • Mr. Bevis represents numerous homeowners’ and condominium owners’ associations throughout north Texas with compliance with their governing documents and the applicable statutes.  Additionally, Mr. Bevis drafts governing documents for developers, and revising the governing documents of association when their needs change or the legislature amends the governing statutes.  He also represents individual owners in litigation adverse to their association.

     

Oil & Gas
  • Mr. Bevis represents mineral owners and surface owners negotiating oil & gas leases, pipeline right-of-way and easement agreements, surface use agreements, and related agreements as well as buyers and sellers of mineral rights and royalties.  He also represents operators and non-operators including drafting purchase and sale agreement, assignments, farmout agreements, joint operating agreements, participation and exploration agreements, areas of mutual interest, and other upstream exploration and production documentation.  Mr. Bevis represents litigants in litigation involving oil and gas.

  • Mr. Bevis is an experienced business advisors who assist clients in commercial, farm and ranch, and general real estate and other asset-based financing including the preparation and negotiation of loan documentation. He also assists in structuring transactions, and when necessary, assisting with foreclosures, assignments, modifications, and workouts.

  • Mr. Bevis represents businesses of all sizes and structures from the formation of business entities, operations, expansion, sale, and dissolution.   He advises owners, officers, and management legal matters including statutes and legislation relevant to the business sector.

  • Mr. Bevis understands the condemnation process can be confusing and frightening, especially when the land has sentimental value or the condemnor does not negotiate in good faith.  The Texas “quick take” condemnation procedure moves quickly, and Mr. Bevis helps client negotiate what is hopefully a fair price.  When a resolution cannot be amicably be reached with the condemnor, Mr. Bevis can assist with the commissioners’ hearing and subsequent litigation.
