Business litigators are typically hired on an hourly basis.  There is a growing trend to give clients more fee options.  Alternate fee agreements may take many shapes and sizes.  One popular alternative in business litigation is a hybrid between a traditional hourly rate and a contingency fee that is based on a percentage of the recovery.  In such hybrid agreements, hourly rates are reduced and supplemented with a reduced contingency fee.  Not every case is suited for alternate fee agreements.
